Man spends £30k and flies 30,000 miles to have teeth fixed on Merseyside

A Liverpool man living in Canada spent £30,000 and clocked up 30,000 air miles – just to see his dentist.

Kevin Cross, from Bebington, returned to Merseyside three times to have his badly-neglected teeth fixed.

He decided to make the epic journey after friends back home recommended a dentist in Thornton Hough.

After he was put in touch with Dr Liam McGrath at private dentist Buckle and McGrath he signed up for the treatment.

In all, over two-week periods at Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays, Mr Cross had 12 implants and a combination of 24 crowns and veneers, flying to Wirral and back three times.

The 48-year-old pipeline welder said: It really was dental tourism in reverse.”
