Dead cat surrounded by forks found in shoebox

Anne Arundel County police are trying to find out who left a shoebox containing a dead cat at a Severn home. The shoe box was surrounded by plastic forks stuck into the yard.

Spokeswoman Sergeant Sara Schriver says the bizarre incident was reported on Sunday morning after it was discovered by 17-year-old Brandon Matter.

Schriver said she's heard of similar incidents before but the perpetrators usually left a note or there was an obvious suspect.



Schriver said police don't have a motive and she described the act as more involved than most.

Brandon Matter did say the shoebox was the same one that came with a pair of Nikes he bought last month.
