Rampant ram locked up by angry farmer

A randy runaway ram which invaded a field and started mounting prized pedigree ewes has been caught and locked up by a furious farmer.

The Wensleydale ram escaped from its owners and got into land at Higher Kinnerton where farmer John Lloyd keeps his 150 valuable Lleyn ewes.

The lusty sheep has already enjoyed the favours of several of Mr Lloyd’s flock – threatening the bloodline of animals he had paid thousands of pounds for.

On previous occasions Mr Lloyd has caught the ram on his land and returned it, locking it up in a stable, but only for it to be released again.

But yesterday, after catching the animal again on land he rents off Moor Lane, John Lloyd, of Talwrn Farm, Higher Kinnerton, refused to release him.

To make matters worse, two of the ram’s offspring have also turned up on his farm – but fortunately they have been castrated. Mr Lloyd is now looking for compensation from the owner who he believes lives in Buckley and cast-iron assurances that the Wensleydale rams will in future be kept away from his flock.
