Therapist puts horse back on track

A horse that refused to turn left is now right back on track thanks to a course of aromatherapy by a Nottinghamshire therapist.

Revels's rider could only get the animal to turn one way because of scarred tissue on its back that was restricting its movement.

But a blend of lavender and sweet almond oils, black pepper and massage has given the five-year-old gelding a new lease of life.

Horse therapist Penny Palmer, 39, said: "Revels couldn't turn left. It would rear up and turn to the right.

"As soon as I began to massage the horse's back I saw the problem.

"There was scarring tissue that meant he was physically unable to turn to the left. So I gave him a massage using aromatherapy oils - lavender for relaxation and black pepper for pain relief."
