A Gourock mum told how her ‘skin crawled’ after her five-year-old daughter found a condom in Woolworths’ pick‘n’mix.
The mum, who has asked not to be named, was shopping in the Oak Mall when her little girl made the gruesome find.
She said: “My daughter wanted pick‘n’mix. She put her hand in, and touched this thing. I pulled her hand away, at first hoping it was a rubber glove, but I moved the scoop and realised what it was. It made my skin crawl.
“I took my daughter and ran across to the nearest toilet and washed her hands straight away. She thought it was a rubber glove, and I haven’t told her anything different. I was freaking out. I had to say something to the manager. He couldn’t say sorry enough.
“I couldn’t sleep that night thinking about it. It’s a sick person that does something like that to children’s sweeties. I was sickened by the whole thing.”
Woolworths confirmed something was found in the pick‘n’mix, and said staff cleaned out the entire section. It happened last Thursday.
