Indian whirligig beetle named after Roy Orbison

An unusual new species of whirligig beetle from India is being named Orectochilus orbisonorum in honour of the late rock ‘n’ roll legend Roy Orbison and his widow Barbara.

To mark the occasion, an original work of art – pigment inkjet print titled “Whirligig” – was presented to Barbra Orbison during a tribute concert at Arizona State University.
