Swearing pensioner headbutts 20-yr-old assistant in parking dispute

A 75-year-old pensioner headbutted a young trolley attendant in the Asda car park in Kinmel Bay during a row about a parking space.

Ronald Chapman threatened to stab Graham Dawkin, 20, after he asked him to move his car from a lay-by in order to protect it from moving trolleys, Llandudno Magistrates Court was told.

Ex-Army sergeant Chapman also swore repeatedly and threw a punch at the “shocked and intimidated” young attendant, the prosecution said yesterday.

Prosecutor Jim Neary said Chapman “repeatedly told him to f*** off.” He said: “The defendant got out of his car and headbutted him in the face, just above the bridge of the nose.”The court heard Chapman then said “Do you want me to stab you?”

He went to the boot of his car and opened it but did not seem to get anything out.

The pensioner pleaded guilty to assault and was given a 12-month supervision order. He was also ordered to pay £200 to his victim and £120 prosecution costs.
