Piglet born with two heads in China

Chinese vets say a second two-headed piglet has been born in the country in less than a year.

And although the first animal died after a few days, the latest piglet - which has two heads, two snouts and two mouths - is alive and well.

The animal only has one eye on each head, and is part of a litter of fourteen, according to farmer Fu Baoan, of Jiangnan town in Jilin city, China.

He said: "The sow had a hard time getting the piglet out and I knew it must be a big one. But when it came out I was astonished to see it had two heads.

"The two mouths can eat and drink simultaneously and independently."

Local vets have been called in to check over the health of the animal which is now three-weeks-old and find out why it was born with two heads. The other piglets born in the litter are all normal, Fu said.
