When Raymond Cake bought his family home in 1959, little could he have known that by million-to-one odds, another Raymond Cake would be moving in almost 50 years later.
The first Raymond, who sadly passed away in 1993, had many happy years at the Alderney bungalow with wife, Margery, and their family.
But when 86-year-old Margery decided to move in with daughter Jenny earlier this year, the home went on the market for the first time in half a century.
So it was a major surprise, and no doubt a good omen for all concerned, when the new buyer announced himself as another Raymond Cake.
Mr Cake the younger, 41, said: "As soon as we walked in, we could tell it was going to be right for us. It was quite strange really, but it just felt right.
"There is a chance we could be very, very distant relatives. My uncle is working on a family tree, but it is still a work in progress."
