An Oakland Park man is charged with fatally shooting his neighbour's barking dog.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Michael Jones shot the dog because its barking interfered with his studying.
At first Jones denied shooting the dog on Jan. 19. He later voluntarily turned over his rifle to detectives for examination. When he was interviewed, authorities say he admitted shooting the dog because the barking was a distraction to his studying.
Jones was arrested on one felony count of cruelty to animals resulting in death. He's being held in the county jail without bond.
