Pensioner George Harris died after his electronic armchair hurled him to the ground when he fiddled with its controls.
The retired farmer, 77, suffered a fractured skull in the fall.
His wife Enid, 75, was upstairs at their home in Penryn, Cornwall, when she heard him cry out.
She told a Truro inquest: "I found him on the floor. I assume he played with the remote and jammed the control so it ejected him."
George died in hospital four days later.
Verdict: Accident.
