Python immobilized after eating zoo deer

A python sneaked into a deer enclosure at an Indian zoo yesterday morning and swallowed a young deer whole.

Zoo officials in Tirupati, who were awe-struck by the incident, said that they packed the python, who was by then unable to move, into a bag and carried it away to a reserve forest for release in the wild.

There were around 70 deer present in the enclosure.

'Normally, we take care that such incidents don't take place but I believe that there must have been a hole left unattended to, we shall take care of it in future,' said Pillai, Head of the Sree Venkateshwara Zoological Park.
