A California woman trapped in her house by swarming bees says she watched in horror as they killed her dog.
The Oak Hills woman, who asked to be identified only as "Linda," described watching through a window as her 15-year-old cocker mix looked to her for help from the bees defending a hive on her porch. The woman had retreated inside her house after her son had been stung.
"The worst thing for me was looking out the door and seeing Chewy looking up at me - 'help me, let me in' - and I couldn't do it," she said.
Joe Harris of Harris Termite and Pest Control said the bees were particularly angry.
"At Linda's place those bees were very, very, very, very aggressive, extremely aggressive," he said, noting that even in a beekeeper's suit it took several attempts to exterminate the nest.
"God was looking out for me that day," Linda said, "because I called four different exterminators and none of them could come out for four or five hours and I was trapped in my house watching my animals die."
