Sonu has been chained to his cycle-rickshaw for the past few days because he failed to repay at Rs-500, (£5.90), loan he took from his employer.
"I told him I would repay Rs 500. My wife and children will die of hunger. But he did not leave me and tied me to the ricksahw,” he says.
His employer is not willing to release him unless he gets his money back. While Sonu's friends have failed to secure his release, they are making sure he is gets food.
“It’s not good to treat a human being like this,” says Imran, Sonu’s neighbour.
Everyone is now waiting for Sonu's relatives to come with the money and rescue him.
“They are waiting for his family to come over and pay up. Since they can’t keep and eye on him they’ve locked him up,” says a rickshaw owner, Munna.
