Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, say a 2-month-old baby boy appears to have been killed by a 6-week-old labrador puppy.
The boy was identified as Zane Alen Earles.
Investigators in Oklahoma City said the cause of death had not been determined. The boy was dead when paramedics arrived at his family's home on Monday.
"Let's just say it was apparent the wounds came from the dog, and we don't know what caused the death of the child, but at this point it appears to be dog bites," said Police Officer Jason Willingham.
Willingham said the parents, grandmother and other family members were at home. But the boy appears to have been left unobserved in a child swing.
The puppy, a black Labrador, was taken to a shelter for observation along with a pug that also was in the house. The manager said the puppy was put down at the request of police.
