House deemed unfit for a dog

This is the disgusting dump where a couple live — but was deemed unfit for their dog. The living room lies beneath hundreds of beer cans and wine bottles.

Plastic bags, faeces, and old tins of dog food filled the kitchen. Even the bathroom was cluttered with beer cans. And a bucket of vomit was left for the pet to lick.

The hell-hole didn’t bother wheelchair-bound Peter Quinn and partner Angela Flowers. But they were charged with causing unnecessary suffering to Staffordshire terrier Zeus.

The dog was skin and bones when found by the RSPCA at the home in Monkton, near Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. It was nearly half normal body weight — 14.4kg instead of 25kg.

Quinn, 53, pleaded guilty at court. And Flowers, 38 — who cared for the dog while Quinn was sick — was found guilty at a trial at Blaydon Magistrates’ Court.

Quinn could face jail when the pair are sentenced later this month. The dog has been re-homed.
