Skinny Water slammed by diet watchdogs

A "miracle" Drink called Skinny Water - which says it can help you lose weight - has been blasted for misleading customers.

The flavoured spring water, sold in Tesco, WH Smith and Superdrug, boasts of a unique scientifically-proven formula claimed to suppress hunger and fight fat.

But the drink's makers Bio Synergy have admitted they have not conducted any studies which prove this - and say it's "just a name" like skinny jeans or skinny latte.

Now they face action by food watchdogs, who are about to implement new EU laws cracking down on such products.

The Food Standards Agency say it is "wrong" that the drink's makers can make such "groundless" claims.

Colin Waine, of the National Obesity Forum, said: "People will see this drink as a possible quick fix but there isn't a quick fix - it needs a lifestyle change."
