The temple of tame tigers

This tiger is one of three which have been totally tamed by monks at the Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno Monastery in Thailand.

And thrill-seeking tourists can touch and stroke the 25st predators.

To prepare them for visitors, sanctuary chief Monk Chan tires them out with four hours of exercise in the morning with plenty of water play-fights.

The tigers then get filled up with boiled chickens — so they don’t feel too peckish with people around.

Chan, of the Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno monastery in Kanchanaburi, rescued his first cub in 1999 after its mother was killed by poachers.

He has a total of 18 big cats — but not one has attacked a human.

There's a photo gallery here.
