Kingfisher and pike caught in same photograph

This is the moment when two of nature's greatest fishermen were captured in action on the same freshwater lake.

In the background a hungry pike leaps from the water with its jaws open as it tries to make a make a meal of young roach that are fleeing for their lives

However, in a moment of impeccable timing a kingfisher flies into frame holding its own dinner in its beak.

The incredible photograph was taken by amateur wildlife photographer Brian Macfarlane at the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen on the Norfolk Broads.
