Two men were arrested yesterday by police investigating the murder of a 25-year-old woman more than a decade ago.
The development in the inquiry into the death of Patricia Grainger in Sheffield has come just weeks after her 16-year-old son Danny launched the website www.whokilledmymum.com.
Ms Grainger was found dead near her home in the Parson Cross area of the city in August 1997. Her body was found in a brook covered by a mattress. She had been sexually assaulted before she was strangled and stabbed.
Her son Danny, who was five when his mother died, launched his website in August, at the time of the 11th anniversary of his mother's death.
He wrote on his site: "She was a lovely woman who would not hurt a fly she was friendly and would talk to anyone who would talk to her there is no known reason why someone would do what they did."
A South Yorkshire Police said spokeswoman said: "Two men, aged 51 and 59, both from Sheffield, were arrested this morning in connection with the death of Patricia Grainger in 1997. They are currently helping police with enquiries."
