Charity walker finds long-lost brother on Mount Snowdon

Climber David Evans reached the top of Mount Snowdon — and was greeted by the brother he had not seen in 30 years.

David, 70, was amazed to be hugged by Rowan, 66, who emigrated to Australia in the 1970s.

Rowan had learned that his big brother planned to scale the mountain in North Wales in aid of a cancer charity.

So he flew to the UK and waited at the summit to surprise the dad of two, whose wife Sonia died of cancer last year.

David, of Bridgend, South Wales, said: “It was like something out of a movie.

“I saw someone coming out of the mist and thought, ‘That looks like my brother’. We were both crying. I’ll never forget it.”
