Pastor furious over penis ads on church

A pastor is fuming over dozens of posters advertising penis enlargements and abortions that were plastered over the walls of a landmark church in King William’s Town. Father Charles Lagan of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in South Africa said enough is enough and called the numbers printed on the adverts, after efforts to pull them down only encouraged the pasters to put up more.

One of the advertisers promised to send people from East London to remove them from the church wall. But they never arrived.

A flustered Lagan said the posters, which had been a familiar sight around the town, started appearing on the church’s walls about two weeks ago. “We pulled them down, only to have them put up again.”

The pastor thought it was ironic that they chose the church as a target so close to Christmas. “Yes, we do live in a democracy where people are entitled to their own views, but to deface the church and even the town is unacceptable,” he said. He said the message on the posters offended people’s morals. “To rubbish any place is highly insensitive. Do they offer adequate counselling for their clients?”

The pastor linked the messages on the adverts to the biblical slaughter of young boys by King Herod during the period of the birth of Christ. “This indicates that Herod is alive and well this Christmas in King William’s Town; his particular slaughter this year is the offer of a 24-hour abortion service, and for men a special Christmas special of penis enlargement.”

A variety of advertisements are plastered along the church’s stone wall, some offering “100 percent guaranteed” penis enlargement cream. One poster promoting a certain “Prof Moses” read: “Caution!!! Size, length R399, erection and power.”
