A charity fundraiser dressed as Santa was given a parking ticket as he assembled his sleigh in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Richard Walters had been towing the sleigh and parked up in Tudor Square to push it onto the pavement.
But as he was walking back to his Land Rover he was handed a parking fine by an attendant. The sleigh is being used by the West Bridgford Round Table as part of an all-day street collection for charity.
"It's ridiculous," said Mr Walters, 38. "It was clear to anyone what I was doing. We are raising money for a good cause at Christmas time and she had the audacity to give me a ticket.
"I was just going back to my car to move it. I will definitely be appealing about this."
Maureen Hodgkinson, who works at nearby Haart estate agents, said: "I was absolutely disgusted. They are doing work for charity. They are out in this rain and they get a parking ticket for trying to make money for charity. Everybody (in the area) feels the same.
"I just cannot believe, that something that they do every year for charity, they give a parking ticket for two minutes."
