Paraglider survives 10 hours hanging from high-voltage cables

A paraglider in Colombia has been rescued after being trapped on a power line for 10 hours.

Alberto Ocampo had begun his flight from the south western town of San Felix with plans to head north, towards Antioquia.

But a technical failure and strong winds carried him straight into high tension power lines, some 350 meters above ground.

Fog and cold temperatures hampered the rescue mission, but civil defence forces eventually lowered Ocampo back onto the ground where his family were there to greet him.
