First Bus has apologised to residents of a Falkirk village after wrongly labelling it Skinflints on timetables.
The error was made for buses travelling to Skinflats, near Grangemouth, which has a population of about 350.
The company said the mistake was printed on timetables for the numbers 10, 11 and 12 buses on 12 January and had now been corrected.
The village was reportedly named by Dutch engineers in the mid 18th Century.
A First Bus spokeswoman said: "There was an error in the map which was immediately withdrawn as soon as we realised.
"If there was any offence caused to anyone then, of course, we do apologise."
