Bride and Groom arrested on wedding night

A Clear Lake couple married over the weekend also has police mug shots to go with their wedding pictures.

Hours after they exchanged vows, they were hauled off to jail after deputy constables say they had too much to drink.

Billy Puckett and Jade McClane posed for mug shots after they were arrested in Webster Saturday night. Officiails from the Precinct 8 constable's office says Puckett was driving drunk. The officer was going to let his new bride go, but she became belligerent and was taken in for public intoxication. Puckett spent the night in jail.

The arrest was part of an area-wide drunk driving crackdown that prohibits suspected drunk drivers from refusing a blood alcohol tests.

"By doing this program, we want the message to get out to the community that if you drink and drive, we're going to find out exactly how intoxicated you are," said Harris County Assistant DA Brent Mayr.

The officer first stopped the newlyweds because the bride was trying to jump out of a moving car.
