Pony taken away from adopted lamb

A pony has been separated from a flock of sheep on a farm in Cornwall after becoming so protective of a lamb that he even chased its mother away.

Kes, a palomino pony, decided to "adopt" the lamb at Fentongollan Farm, near Truro, and protect it against anything in the field.

He has now been moved to another field so the lamb can be reunited with its mother, farm staff said.

"I've never seen anything like it," Julie Rickeard said.

"Kes decided that he was the man and he was going to look after it.

"He chased all the other sheep off, including mum, and they ended up having to put Kes in another field."
