Pranksters have erected a tongue-in-cheek blue plaque outside the south London house of Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.
Blue plaques, awarded by English Heritage, are normally reserved for former luminaries as a permanent reminder of their link to an important location,
But the Home Secretary is commemorated on the sign for"claiming expenses for her barbecue and husband's porn films."
The stunt is likely to cause more embarrassment for Ms Smith who was forced to apologise for submitting an expense claim for two pornographic films watched by her husband Richard Timney.
She is also currently being investigated after claiming at least £116,000 for her constituency house in Redditch while living at her sister's home in London. And a leak of MP expenses suggested she had bought a barbecue, patio heater and toothbrush holder with taxpayer funds
But Don't Panic Magazine, who are behind the stunt said they had erected the plaque: "To highlight the grotesque nature of MP's expense claims, at a time when most taxpayers are finding it hard to get by." The magazine said her claims were some of the most 'extravagant' and 'embarrassing.'
