Drunk, naked man invites teen neighbours for party

An El Salvador civil war veteran tried to lure two teenagers to party with him by stripping naked and waving his pistol around, a court heard. The Brisbane District Court was told a naked Victor Manuel Caballero, 42, tried to entice the girls to drink Tequila with him at his Oxley home, 15km southwest of Brisbane, Australia, by claiming he was well endowed.

Prosecutor Petrina Clohessy said the girls, aged 16 and 19, had just left a party close to midnight on June 8 last year when they noticed a man standing naked in his front yard. She said the pair noticed Caballero was masturbating and he then invited them to come over to him for a good time. The court was told the 19-year-old girl became angry with Caballero and demanded he go back inside his house.

Ms Clohessy said Caballero continued to pleasure himself. "You're filthy, go back inside," Ms Clohessy said the girl told Caballero. You are disgusting pulling out your penis (and showing it) to a 16-year-old girl." The court was told the now infuriated girl then grabbed a fence post and walked quickly towards Caballero. She said Caballero then went inside his house and returned brandishing a pistol. Caballero then said to the girl: "Come here and I'll shoot you."

Ms Clohessy said Caballero continued to play with himself while waving several weapons around, including what appeared to be an M16 assault rifle, claiming he just wanted to be "friends" with the girls. Fully armed police wearing bullet-proof vests descended on Caballero's home a short time later. She said when police demanded Caballero surrender he came out draped in a flag and declared the weapons were only replicas.

Caballero, who has lived in Australia for the past 14 years, pleaded guilty to one count each of committing an indecent act in public, going armed to cause fear, possessing unlicensed weapons and an explosive. Barrister Stuart Shearer, for Caballero, said his client suffered from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of fighting heated battles as an El Salvadorian soldier pitted against so-called guerilla freedom fighters in the 1980s.

Mr Shearer said Caballero was so drunk on the night of the incident he had no recollection of what he had done. Judge Terry Martin sentenced Caballero to two year's probation.
