Footballer given yellow card for distracting penalty taker by farting

A referee booked a footballer who allegedly broke wind as an opponent took a penalty.

The penalty was saved but the ref ordered for it to be retaken after he decided the the noise put the taker off.

The alleged offender, who plays for Manchester local side Chorlton Villa, received a yellow card and his goalkeeper was sent off for telling the ref he was the worst he had seen in years.

Soon after another Villa player was red carded for expressing disbelief that his colleague had been booked for flatulence.

The side, who had another player dismissed for verbally abusing the referee, won the game against a Stretford side 6-4.

The Villa manager believes that one of his players made the noise with his mouth. The referee says he booked the player for ungentlemanly conduct.
