4-D cinema so realistic it's causing seasickness

A new 4-D cinema at a marine centre is proving to be a little too realistic – by making people seasick.

The £1 million attraction – which features vibrating seats, three-dimensional images and salt spray – has made some visitors go green around the gills.

Staff at Shallow Seas 4-D Experience, at the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham, have put up warning signs and supplied anti-seasick bracelets.

'The big crashing waves with rumbling seat movements and dolphins leaping towards the audience seems to be too much for some folk,' said manager Joseph Mann.

This video isn't in 4-D. Obnoviously.

But it appears to be only adults who leave their sea legs at the door. 'Our younger visitors seem to be made of sterner stuff than their parents,' he added.

Visitor Joy Larkins said she was forced to leave the cinema. 'It was very impressive and realistic – but if anything it was too realistic,' the 50-year-old added. 'A couple of minutes in, I felt really uneasy and when I stood up my legs felt really wobbly,' she said.
