A woman accused of being a noisy neighbour told a court she wants her bongos back.
Sharon Nesbitt, 39, is being prosecuted at Brighton Magistrates’ Court for breaching a noise abatement notice in April.
Brighton and Hove City Council is taking action after complaints about loud music at her flat in Halland Road, Moulsecoomb, including noise from her bongo drums. The notice was served last December after repeated complaints about her behaviour.
In February, Nesbitt was convicted of breaching the notice and was fined £600 with £750 costs. She appeared at court yesterday when she denied breaching the order again. Nesbitt said the council had seized her music equipment from her flat.
She said: “Keep my possessions but don’t take my soul and my bongos.”
The case was adjourned until June 2.
