An amorous sheep in Norway got stuck hanging from a live wire when it tried to "abseil" down an electricity cable to reach a field full of ewes.
Witnesses said he slid down the cable from a higher field with his horn stuck on the wire before coming to rest against a telegraph pole. The ram was then seen bleating for help more than 15 feet above the ground.
Geir Landsnes, 45, and his daughter Marita, 13, watched the dramatic events unfold in the small town of Helgoysund on the Norwegian coast.
"I asked my daughter Marita to photograph the rescue operation so I could see the images of what had happened, Mr Landsnes said. "Marita is so proud that her images and I've encouraged her not to leave the house without her camera."
A group of German tourists managed to get a rope around the stricken sheep and lower it to the ground. The delicate rescue operation took around an hour.
The ram was unharmed and was rewarded for his efforts by being released to graze in the company of the ewes he had apparently been trying reach.
