Auld Reekie tops poll of places most want to visit before they die

Edinburgh has topped a poll of British cities to "see before you die".

The Scottish capital came out ahead of Bath and Liverpool in a survey of 5,500 people, with residents also judged to have the "sexiest accent" in Britain.

Belfast, Glasgow and Oxford were the next most-popular cities on the list, followed by London, Cardiff, York and Cambridge.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne was deemed to be the friendliest city, followed by Liverpool and Manchester. London was voted the least friendly city, followed by Birmingham and Glasgow.
