The tiny three-year-old tot - still in his pyjamas - was spotted sleepwalking by off duty cop Peter Wolf as he took the huge German Shepherd for a stroll across the town of Markt Indersdorf in southern Germany.
Police followed Leander for nearly an hour before he woke up and could tell them where he lived.
Meanwhile his frantic parents had discovered his empty bed and were desperately searching for their son. Mum Carmen Maerz, 43, said: "We told him how worried we were but he just thought it was funny."
