A car which became stuck in mud off Brean Sands in Somerset and sank in 1973 has emerged from the sea and been reunited with its owner.
The rusty remains of the Vauxhall Victor 101 were revealed by recent storms and shifting sands.
Terry Hart, who came to reclaim his car steering wheel, said: "It's so nice to get this back. We were out fishing and the tide caught us. We tried to reverse the car out but the clutch went and bye bye car."
Beach wardens have been recovering rusted parts of the car all week.
Warden Dave Fuber said: "Now the mud's just moved because of the storms whipping the mud around, the car's shown its face once again.
"It's quite easy to recognise. You can see the front of it, where the engine is, the back, the wheels etc and we found out it's a Vauxhall Victor 101."
