Man stabbed with vacuum cleaner attachment

A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed - with a vacuum cleaner attachment.

Three police cars and two police vans raced round to an address in Stockton-On-Tees at around 3pm yesterday, and cordoned off the entire street.

However, on closer inspection of the scene, investigating officers found that the injury was caused with a part of a vacuum cleaner.

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees for treatment on the stab wound to his leg. Another man at the same address, aged 38, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to a report of an assault at an address on Hartington Road, in Stockton, at 3pm on September 3.

“The injured man was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees for treatment for a minor injury to his leg and a second man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. Inquiries are still ongoing.”
