Two yobs have appeared in court after starting a fight with Spiderman — and getting knocked out by two cross-dressers. Dean Jonathan Gardner, aged 19, and Jason Andrew Fender, aged 22, were arrested following two separate incidents in The Kingsway which took place just moments apart in the early hours of August 30.
But they picked the wrong victims on this occasion after being floored by two cross-dressers who are believed to have been cage fighters on a night out. Mark Davies, defending the pair, said they had been out drinking jugs of cocktails, and that Fender had drunk at least 10 pints of cider. "Unfortunately they were extremely drunk, and you know it cannot have been a good night when you get into a fight with Spiderman and two cross-dressing men."
The footage was shown at Swansea Magistrates Court where the pair appeared to both plead guilty to using abusive words and behaviour. They showed Gardner stripped to the waste, confronting a group of men in the queue and becoming involved in a fight, before being joined by Fender.
The amusement starts just after the minute mark.
While the pair scuffle, a club-goer dressed as Spiderman appears from the queue and attempted to diffuse the situation but himself became the target of an attack. After raining down blows on the Superhero clubber, the young thugs walk away apparently buoyant from the incident. But they then made a mistake of confronting a man walking innocently by who was wearing black hot pants and a pink wig.
Puffed-up Gardner, followed by Fender, runs back to confront the man, and punched him in the face. But the victim's friend, who is wearing a short black dress and stockings and suspenders, suddenly appears behind them and fells them both with lightening punches. The confrontation is over in seconds, the men in drag turn to walk away — but not before one has leant over the pair to retrieve his dropped clutch bag.
Magistrates handed the pair a community order each, both to last for four months. They were also ordered to be given an electronic tag, and to remain under house curfew between 7pm and 7am.
