Mother and daughter jailed in fight over same man

A family feud between a Eustis mother and her daughter - both of whom were involved with the same man - landed both women in the Lake County Jail on battery charges.

Eustis Police said they responded to a Grove Street residence for an argument between Lisa W. Johnson, 46, and her biological daughter, Jessica Marie Fixl, 25. They had been arguing over a man named Richard Bowman, who, according to police reports, "is having sexual relations with both" women.

During their first visit to the home, police thought Johnson appeared intoxicated and told her to go to sleep, but about 20 minutes later they returned to the scene and found Johnson bleeding from her forehead. It was serious enough that paramedics had to respond, according to the report.

Johnson told officers that after they left she went to go to bed, but her daughter "struck her with a closed fist on the forehead because she was jealous," according to her arrest affidavit.

But another witness at the scene, a juvenile, said Johnson entered the room where Richard Bowman was staying and grabbed his crotch. She would not let go, the witness told Fixl and that's when she struck her mother, according to the report. Richard Bowman also told police Johnson grabbed him and would not let go. At one point, she said she was going to "rip them off," according to Bowman's account.

Police learned that Bowman and Johnson had been living together as a couple for a year. But Johnson recently went to jail, and then Bowman and Fixl "began having sexual relations," according to the affidavit. Johnson was arrested on a charge of felony domestic simple battery on Bowman. Fixl was arrested and charged with domestic battery upon her mother because police said Bowman could defend himself against Johnson.
