Teenage burglar cooked meat pies and eggs

An Australian teenager who broke into a woman's house twice in one night and cooked himself eggs and meat pies in her kitchen has been sentenced to three years in detention.

On February 19 - just over a month after his release from detention on a suspended sentence - he broke into the woman's Tennant Creek house holding a broken broomstick that was pointy at one end.

He had been watching her through the window for about an hour as she watched television. Woods broke in through the kitchen door and took a six-pack of cider from the fridge but was disturbed by the woman. He threatened the woman with the stick, but left.

About three hours later, when the woman was in bed, he went back, took three meat pies from the freezer and two eggs from the fridge and put them in the microwave to cook.

He walked into the victim's bedroom, and when she told him to "f*** off out of my house" he told her he just wanted to talk.

Woods left, but another two hours later he returned, calling out to the victim from the front yard, saying he wanted to talk to her. She called the police, and after a short foot chase they caught him and arrested him.
