Woman gets her bag stuck in moving train

She got a bag stuck trying to get on the MBTA train and what happened next is pretty scary.

A 34 year-old Quincy woman was trying to board a Red Line train at South Station, Boston when the doors closed on her pocketbook. The train began to move away with her bag wedged in the doors.

The woman ran alongside the moving train shouting for help. At the last minute, she let go prior to going off the end of the platform but she collided with a wall.

The MBTA says they launched a thorough investigation of the incident. As a result of the MBTA’s investigation, the train attendant, whose primary responsibility is ensuring that doorways are clear of people or objects, has been fired. The operator of the train was given a ten-day suspension.
