A beach hut in an upmarket seaside town has gone on the market £40,000 - even though it has not got a front door. The wooden hut which has not been used for many years also has a broken window, peeling paint and felt lifting off its roof as well as a boarded up doorway.
But it commands its high price because it is in a prime position overlooking the sands at Gun Hill in Southwold, Suffolk.
Huts on the Gun Hill promenade with a spectacular view of the North Sea have previously been sold for more than £100,000.
But the hut without a door is cheaper due to its condition and its less favourable position on the sandy beach.
Estate agents Durrants have posted a warning on the sales particulars, saying: "Potential purchasers should be aware that the hut is in quite poor condition."
The five foot by seven foot hut has no mains water, gas or electricity and council rules state that nobody can stay the night in it.
