Naked man halts traffic after dancing on billboard

A naked man danced on top of a billboard on Highway 183 on in Dallas on Friday afternoon, sparking a rescue and causing traffic delays in the busy area.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene just north of Mockingbird Lane beginning at about 2 p.m., where the man, donning a mohawk hairstyle and nothing more, was spotted atop the advertising tower.

Officials used a rescue ladder to reach the man, who flailed his arms and made motions mimicking an orchestra conductor. The man eventually descended on his own, smoking a cigarette and dancing as he made his way to the ground.

"This would be a unique situation," Dallas police Lt. Daniel Gallegos said. "He's obviously not in his right state of mine."

Police said they found syringes on the ground below the billboard and that the man appeared to be high on drugs.

Officers cuffed the man, covered him with a blanket and transported him to Parkland Hospital for evaluation, officials said. Gallegos said it was unlikely that the man would face any criminal charges.

There's a longer video showing his descent here.
