he photographer was Diane Arbus.
A print of this photograph sold for $408,000.

Seriously... $408,000 for a pic that has no political, global, historical or cultural significance is taking the piss. Proof positive that the 'modern' interpretation of 'ART' is 10% talent and 90% bullshit...  P.S. Looks like the kid will have some serious issues with arthritis when he is older...

why does it have to have an significance?  Why does it have to be an illustration, do you think then its art? To me, art is more about whats getting projected on your retina and the associated feelings rather than about the involved research and relevant background.
