Woman admits sex attacks on boys

A 62-year-old woman has admitted to a series of sex attacks on two young boys dating back over 20 years. Audrey Elizabeth Beck from Ballyhill Road, Nutt's Corner indecently assaulted one of the boys when he was aged between ten and 11

She committed similar offences against another boy when he was aged between 12 and 14. Beck appeared at Antrim Crown Court on Tuesday where she was released on bail ahead of sentencing next month.

Beck, who has no children, listened to the proceedings through a hearing aid provided by officials and she also pleaded guilty to a single count of gross indecency against one of the boys. Although no specific details of the offences were given, the court heard they were carried out between May 1986 and January 1992.

Her two victims, now in their 30s, were in court to hear Beck's guilty pleas. A prosecution lawyer said the offences came to light when one of the men went to police in 2007 to complain about the attacks on him. The police then approached the second man who confirmed that he had also been assaulted by Beck.
