A New Jersey student, who is a cross-dresser, has spoken about his fight to go to the prom in a knee-length black dress and heels. Yea, I'm a cross dresser," said student Derrek Lutz.
And as an aspiring fashion designer, shopping for senior prom is easy. "Everything's set. I got my dress, the shoes, my friend's gonna do my hair," Lutz explained.
Lutz had no worries until he was told on Thursday that wearing the dress to the prom would violate the school's dress code.
"I was asked to go to the principal's office," Lutz said. "Basically, he just said I couldn't wear a dress to prom."

You can see this from many different angles and one is that Derreck is being discriminated because he is male. I assume the dress he's got would be otherwise totally appropriate for prom, and the only reason he's not allowed to wear it is his gender. That's not right.
Good for him for being comfortable with who he is and having friends who support him. It's the school officials who are making it "weird". I definitely think this is discrimination.
I don't see what the big deal is. If a boy wants to wear a dress, let him! If a girl wants to wear a tuxedo, let her! As long as the attire is appropriate for the occasion, what's the problem?
Creepy.
