Deer rescued from reservoir after it was found treading water

A deer found treading water in a reservoir in Pittsburgh, US, has been rescued by quick-thinking emergency workers. The animal was discovered treading water in the Highland Park reservoir.

Rescue crews had to act fast after the deer made several unsuccessful attempts to climb out along the walls.

Two equipment repair specialists from the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority used a small boat to catch up to it and then led it back to higher ground. Workers from Animal Control helped with the rescue on land.

After a quick once over from the experts, the animal was released from its restraints. It ran off into the woods leaving its rescuers wondering how it ended up in the reservoir in the first place.
