Dino the donkey was accused in 2002 of biting an eight-year-old girl in the northern village of Blazevdol.
The child’s parents attempted to sue Dino’s owner, Ljubomir Smrndic, demanding damages to be paid to the girl until she reached the age of 18.
But Smrndic successfully argued Dino had been provoked by the girl who had thrown stones at the donkey.
Judges this week ruled that Dino was not guilty and that Smrndic should not pay damages.
Sadly, Dino will be unaware of the victory as she died two years ago.

I breed donkeys and some bite and kick. Mine don't, but I treat them well.
IF his donkey was a 'mean' (I have met some mean ones that were treated well as far as I know) and IF he didn't mind it and it bit someone, they might have a case. The same as if someone had a mean dog and let it roam free. But IF the girl threw stones at it, it would be the girls fault.
One thing it could have been is if you walk up to one and give it a good scratching on the neck they may even think that you were grooming them the way donkeys groom each other and bring their head over to groom you, which involves biting.
