A teacher who called a pupil a ‘fat gay boy’ and upset others by talking about his own sexual relationships has been banned from teaching for a year.
Geoffrey Johnston, who taught at Fazakerly High School in Liverpool, had brought the profession ‘into disrepute’ in a series of incidents, said the General Teaching Council.
He was exposed as a bully after pupils refused to go to his lessons and complained in December 2008.
Johnston, who was sacked by the school last year, claimed his comments were ‘banter’.
