Man attacked with candle and cat

A man from Oak Street in Maryville said he was sleeping on the couch at about 2:45 a.m. on Saturday when his wife walked in and hit him on the head with a candle and then threw a cat on him.

The man said he was in fear for his life but did not want to leave the house and did not want his wife arrested.

The woman said the two had been arguing about a missing dog. She also denied hitting her husband.

The case was closed since the man chose not to press charges.
